Preview Week 5 I league

Before Previews...we got this from keith today...

"Effective tomorrow night, Saturday 6/10 the beer prices will be in effect for pitchers at DPSC-Euless and the pitcher size will remain the same.

Miller Genuine Draft Special $5
Other Domestic $7
Import $9

I went to bat hard for this reduction in price because we appreciate the business you have given us and we want folks to enjoy playing in our rinks and spending time socializing.

Please also note that drinking in the parking lot is not allowed and we have been notified by the Euless PD that they will be patrolling the area. Please make sure you don't put yourself at risk by drinking alcohol in the parking lot."

So take whatever risks you feel are appropriate. Have fun, burn down villages, and hang a terrorist....previews...

Ice Holes vs Warriors: 6:30pm
Rahul Gilbreth and the Skupiens must find a way to shut down Lehr and his Warriors. If the Holes drop this one, they are pretty much out of any postseason contention. Scouts have said the Chris Skupien may make a debue....

Borrachos vs Patriots: 7:30pm
Patriots still have some momentum after beating Mayhem to start the season. Their Shootout loss last week came to a solid Stingers squad, so panic hasn’t set in yet. The Borrachos will unleash Shawn Haley with Jack and Jim Stuckeman, question is, can the Pats shut them down like they did last season? HIIII JACK!!!!

Stingers vs Spiders: 7:45pm
No Josh Briscoe or John Nickerson in this one, might have the Stingers in a bind. However there will be no Sharma in this one for the undeafted spiders. Jason Islam will be wearing a "I heart Bobby Sirkis" jersey. A spiders win clinches a playoff spot, while the Stingers can jump ahead into first place with a win. Jeff Vaughan says steal some candy from a 10 year old and watch this game.

Fugaweez vs Shockers: 8:45pm
Shockers will hope to have the conner brothers with them, if not, it may be a long evening. Fugaweez are 4-1 favorites to win this game.

Puckers vs Komets: 9pm
Probably the one of the biggest battles this season in the Silver division. For the Komets, Chris Gallagher, Hodges, and Atkins will have to shut down Luchenhoff and Rintala. Winner’s keg hopes are alive, loser will need some help to get back in the hunt.

Spiders Platinum vs Leftovers: 10pm
Spiders-Plat will try and bounce back from the 5-2 trouncing they took at the komets last week. This should be an actual good game to watch with a beer in hand.

Blue Devils vs Snipers: 10:15
See the Puckers/Komets game for level of importance. Ray workman and his gang of miscreants will come out guns blazing trying to end the Snipers defense of the Keg. Todd Smith has been rumored as to taking Steroids this whole last week. He said it had something to do with Cheese. Todd Smith is a strange fellow. Workman has rumored to bring in “D League” help…whatever that means.

Mayhem vs Stickmen: 11:15pm
This will be a colossal slaughter. There is more scoring in the Nunnery at Westminster Abbey than there is in the stickmen team. David Blubaugh and Alex Eyesermans are the only reason this team has a chance in any game. At the same time, Mayhem, who is still frusterated by their loss to the Patriots earlier this season, needs a game to light up the scoreboard. We think they might have found it. Head Coach Bobby Sirks said this about the upcoming game, “In honor of the judge making Paris fulfill her entire 45 day sentence, we will score 45 times Saturday”

The Texas Legislature passed a very watered down beer reform bill in response to Sonny Bryans attempts to maninpulate the beer wholesale market. Rep Phil King (R) Weatherford Chairman of the Regulated Industries and Beer Pricing Committee said this import reform bill corrects the issues with the outsourcing of the Cross Bar and brings price relief to thirsty I-Leaguers. Tom "Smitty" Smith of Public Beer Drinking Citizen was less ethusiastic of the reform bill. "This is a sham." said Smith "I-leaguers are still being gouged under this plan. Additionally they closed off the alternatives for cheap beer with punitive penalties." Smith further stated that "Sonny Bryan's hired an army of lobbyists to take the real teeth out of this bill - they won while the rank hockey player is getting screwed."

Here, here!

Do what you may with the crossbar, but we will not stand for $7 domestic pitchers!

Those a$$holes called the cops on us and that's bull$hit. Have no fear I leaguers..we will prevail. Don't give in to this disrespectful attempt to win us back. Euless steals enough off us with their steep rates for I league hockey and only getting 10 games...I say screw 'em.

TOGA! TOGA! TOGA!

Plenty of teams planning on splitting - I'll miss it, but we've been dealt too many bad hands...
