Honor: Defended....

Once again, the forces of Euless proved too much for lowly Grapevine, as the Komets were victorious 7-1. A couple other teams were represented in the game with guys from Blue Devils, Fugaweez and Phantoms. This game did have a couple drama moments, but quickly gave way to more Euless scoring.
Diminutive Warrior Scott Baldree got the hat trick while Gerald Cappers, Mike Bresnahan, Mike Gallagher, and Dustin Nation also lit the lamp. Bruce "Old But Not Dead" Frankel had 2 assists. One Komet was quoted on the bench saying "I can't believe it, we are going to win!" Good job guys.
Maybe it's time Euless played another I league.....anyone know if Duncanville or Plano are up for it?

D Results ...

The D-League season opened last night with the Blue Devils hanging on for a 3-2 victory over Mid Cities. Anyone know how the Kings/Ice Dogs game turned out? Pointstreak isn't yet updated with schedule or results. What's up with that?

Tonight: Phantoms make their D-League debut against the Misfits.

Reader question: Jerseys

Reader "anonymous" posts the following comment:
Does anyone have a recommendation for getting team jerseys done? Have you guys gone to someone local or order them online?

Anyone? Anyone?

Hockey Video of the Week....

Perhaps this is why we don't have Checking in I league....or perhaps maybe why we should....

D-League Starts Tonight

Puck droppage for the fall D-League season is tonight. Knute sent coordinators the 06-07 schedule but cautioned there would probably be changes after the first two weeks. Some basics were confirmed, however.
  • There are 14 teams.
  • Hockey Team did not move up to C despite being virtually unchallenged (21-1-1) over the summer.
  • Blue Devils and Hitmen return to D after having it handed to them in C over the summer.

I Leauge Fall/Winter Session Begins...

It's time for the puck to drop, goals to be scored, rivalries to be renewed. Many are saying last session's drama can't be topped. But with new players and returning players, this fall could provide some interesting matchups. This weekend two new teams emerge and several of last session's playoff games are played again....should be fun.

Wolverines vs Patriots: 7:45pm
Last Meeting: May 06 (has it been that long!?), Wolverines rolled 4-1. Rumors have it Pats are 2-1 favorites to win the keg.

Brewzers vs True.com: 9pm

Spiders vs. Stingers: 10pm
Last Meeting: Summer playoffs, Stingers rolled 2-0. (will there be an eclipse saturday night?)

Blue Devils vs Puckers: 10:15pm
Last Meeting: Another long time coming....April 06....Blue Devils edged out lucky puckers 2-1. Many are saying young talent on Blue Devils is something to watch for.

Snipers vs Ice Holes: 11:15pm
Last Meeting: Summer playoffs with an Ice Holes 1-0 win. Ice Holes also had the most resurgence last session after losing first 4, rattled off 5 consecutive wins.

Komets vs Fugaweez: 11:30pm
Last Meeting: An entertaining last place Summer playoff as the Fugaweez outlast the Komets 5-4. For what its worth, Komets are 100-1 odds to win the keg. (somebody should put some $$$ down, just for the heck of it)

Stickmen vs Shockers (2 pints): 12:30am (coffee will be the sports drink of choice).
