I league: Week 4 Preview

Hope everyone had a pretty good memorial day, but now its time to kill off the bratwerst, burgers and beer. We are in the home stretch pretty much with 5 games to go. Time for teams to make a step up or go in a corner and hide.

6:30pm Gold: Shockers vs Snipers
Not much is know about the shockers team, we never know what free agents will be signed week to week. Snipers (ie Stickmen’s farm team) will hope to continue their winning ways. Someone check Ken Halford bag for bootleg movies.

7:30pm Green: Warriors vs Stickmen
Stickmen haven’t scored a goal yet this season, while the Warriors would love to continue that trend. For the warriors its must win game to try and stay in the hunt for one of the top four spots. Rumor has it that several members of this squad are floating around in the Caribbean still.

7:45pm Gold: Komets vs Platinum Spiders
The Spiders will try and pull the upset here against a solid Komets squad trying to make it back to back wins. When these teams met in the Duncanville Tournament in December, the Spiders absolutely destroyed them. Mike Gallagher is in the running for the Selke award this season with his conquering backchecking skills.

8:45pm Green: Patriots vs Stingers
Huge game for the Patriots, as they are coming off their 7-0 win against the Stickmen. Last time these two teams met, in a scrimmage no less, there were fisticuffs…last time they met in a game, there was blood and fisticuffs. And they say that I league has no rivalries. This game will be lacking Josh Briscoe who is in the Mountains of Tibet meditating. Patriots’ Daniel “Scoreboard” Barr will try to add to his stats, but Jason Isham and Stingers new top tier defenseman Jon Nickerson will certainly give the Stingers firepower.

9pm: Gold: Blue Devils vs Brewzers
Battle of two of the Top teams in the Silver will transpire here. Blue Devils took a tough shootout loss a couple of weeks ago, but still remain atop the standings. Brewzers no doubt will be ready to throw Jamil Jabri at the Evil Empire. Jeff Vaughan says slap a grandma and watch this game.

10pm: Green: Mayhem vs Ice Holes
The only loss Mayhem took last season was a 1-0 loss to the Ice Holes. Revenge has to be on their minds. Head Coach Bobby Sirkis has been working his team over time during this break with workout routines that would make Ken Hitchcock cringe. From Sirkis about the game, “We have just spotted the Ice Holes 5 goals, that should be gone in the first two minutes”.

10:15pm Gold: Leftovers vs Puckers
Again, we ask, which puckers team will show up for this one? It will no doubt be a tough challenge for a spunky leftovers squad trying to get its first win of the season.

11:15pm Green: Borrachos vs Spiders
Spiders will try and make it 4-0 on the season, but will have to do it against one of the highest scoring threats in the league. Borrachos are still licking their wounds from the Mayhem Massacre of a couple weeks ago. Spiders are a beatable team, however are solid all the way around. The headline of this match up might be Jim Stuckeman vs Chris Gallagher. But Sharma vs Hodges is said to be attracting the boys from Hockey Night in Canada.

what would it take to get an "olson Miked-up" feature.....
