Oct. 28 Games...Preview

Scheduling change occurred because of a Puckers vs Fugaweez match up…..Here’s sat’s games, officially blessed from Knute.

7:45 pm: Shockers vs True.com (Gold)
-Battle of Winless Teams….Shockers looked good against the fugaweez, we’ll see if they can get the W this week.

9pm: Puckers vs Stickmen (Gold)
-This game was originally suppose to be the Puckers vs Fugaweez….then people demanded a change…we wont say who of course…..Stickmen trying to stay perfect on the season and haven’t given up a goal yet.

10pm: Blue Devils vs Komets 10pm (Green)
-Komets spunky win last week has many thinking a Cinderella story is being written. BD, who had a tough lost last week, need a win to stay in the hunt.

10:15pm: Spiders vs Snipers (Gold)
-Spiders trying to make it 2 in a row and be among the serious contenders for the keg. Snipers trying to avoid going 0-3.

11:15 pm: Patriots vs Fugaweez (Green)
-I League Game of the Night.
-Ultimate showdown of Ultimate Hockey Destiny faces off two 2-0 Teams. Pats were suppose to play the Stickmen…..perhaps a dodging of a bullet? Who knows….We know of one Patriot who is hungry for another shot at the Fugs…..Fugaweez are trying to continue their "Payback" season, while the Pats are said to be "Licking Their Chops" for this game.

11:30 pm: Stingers vs Ice Holes (Gold)
-They may be a total eclipse this night…..Ice Holes try to start another 7 game winning streak.

12:30 am: Wolverines vs Brewzers (Green)
-Sunday Morning Hockey
-Wolverines Coach Bobby Sirkis tries to avoid going 0-3 as his squad takes on the undefeated Brewzers.

Week 2: I league Results...

Great games this weekend as we saw several teams stay undefeated, several close games, as well as an OT game…
Btw….We are missing stat sheets from Fugs/Shockers, Patriots/Stingers, and True.Com/Puckers….so if anyone has them….we need em ASAP.No Scoresheets….No Great Stats…We did get the Puckers/True.com summary up....

Here’s what we can piece together

Patriots 3 Stingers 2
Patriots got revenge from their shootout loss last session with a solid win to remain undefeated. Pats looked solid on both Defense and Offense by getting goals from Rahul Sharma, Steve Benefield and Butch Hutchinson. Stingers got an even strenghth goal as well as a Power play strike, but we don’t have names on the guys……Stat Sheets people…..

Fugaweez 3 Shockers 2
Again, no Stat sheets. This is all we know: Kent “Doc” Taub had 2 scores for the Fugs, while Nate “Little Ball of Hate” Hodges took one coast to coast for the Shockers. Goalies Chris Duran and Bobby Michaelides both had excellent performances. Oh, and the Fugaweez are 2-0.

Spiders 5 Wolverines 4
This was an Epic Struggle of Biblical Proportions. The shorthanded Wolverines (9 skaters) dominated the first two periods against a Spiders bench which was abundant with players (15). Wolverines established a 3-1 lead going into the third with goals from Robert Gullinese, Nate Hodges, and Bob Kerace. However the Spiders rallied, partly due to an exhausted wolverines squad, with 4 goals. Two goals coming from Chris Gallagher, while Bryan Conture and Linda Mason added tallies. Wolverines tried to answer back with Greg Mersberger lighting the lamp, but not enough. Goalies Chris Duran for the wolverines and Jeremy Brown, Spiders, had several stellar saves. Excellent game kids....

Stickmen 2 Ice Holes 0
The “I League Game of the Week” was rather a Defensive Struggle with the Stickmen edging out the ice holes 2-0. Stickmen only put up 17 shots while the Ice Holes only managed 6 shots. Goals by Jesse Henderson and Jeff Thomas. Again, correct us if we are incorrect. Stickmen Goalie Steve McCollister has now pitched back to back shutouts.

Puckers 4 True.com 0
Not much is know on this game, only that the Puckers won 4-0. Travis Lehr lit the lamp twice, while Dallas Lehr and "Kevin" both added tallies. Assists are unknown, as is every other bloody stat.

Brewzers 5 Blue Devils 4
This offensive battle was interesting to watch as there were two hat tricks. Brewzers drew first blood with a score from Jamil Jabri (look for his name later). In the second, the Blue Devils got goals from Ray Workman and David Ogle while the Brewzers got one from Dennis Sutton. The Thrid period made Blue Devil fans happy as Workman’s 2nd and 3rd goals of the night hit the back of the net. On the other side of the ice, the Brewzers maintained the tie on goals from Thomas and Jabri. This showdown ended with Jabri getting his hat trick with almost no time left in the third. We can pretty much say the league leaders in Points are in this game.
It has come to our attention that the score sheet was wrong....again...Game never went to OT. Thanks to Jamil for the CORRECT info.

Komets 2 Snipers 1
Yes you read that score correctly. Sunday Morning Hockey may be just what the komets needed to get their first regular season win. The Komets built a 2-0 lead going into the 3rd with goals from Mike Brensahan and Scott “Diminutive Warrior” Baldree. Snipers struck back late in the third on a Power Play goal from Tom Buckner, but couldn’t score again. Komets Goalie Brett Bryant looked sensational with 20 saves on 21 shots.

So as it stands…..Stickmen, Patriots, Fugaweez, and Brewzers remain in the Ranks of the Undefeated.

stats/standings to come when we get all the stuff together....

D-League Results From Friday

Results from Friday night:

Yokels 3, Blue Devils 2: Charlie Jackson's deflection goal was the difference.
Beerflyers 11, Phantoms 1 (ouch): Scott Prusha had six goals and an assist.
Misfits 5, Kings 2: Harold Cussnick and Kenny Pohlman each had two goals. Pohlman also had two assists; Cussnick had one. Looks like a two-man team, this one.
