It's Hitmen vs. Hockey Team for D-League Title

The Hitmen and Hockey Team will play a three-game series for the D-League title after the two prevailed in semifinal games Wednesday.

How they got there:

Hockey Team defeated the Misfits 7-2 in the semis after beating the Blue Devils 7-5 in a bloody first-round game that featured fisticuffs, ejections and several game misconduct penalties. So far in the playoffs, Mike Ross has three goals, and goalie Sean Hadley has a 3.5 GAA. He'll have to bring that down against the Hitmen.

The Hitmen beat the Beerflyers 8-4 in the semis. Chris Gallagher was the star, scoring four goals, including an empty-netter as time ran out. The Beerflyers got a hat trick from Dan Custred. The Hitmen defeated the Stickmen 7-2 in the first round.
Gallagher had two goals in that one.

The smart money says: Take the Hitmen in three. At least, that's where our heart lives.

In other playoff news, the Euless C-League champ, HAVOC, will face Jokerit of Farmers Branch at 7:45 p.m. Sunday for the Metroplex C-League title. The game is at FB. Jokerit goalie Terry Redmon reports: "Could make for a fun game to watch and report on." Yeah, if Sarg and the other Euless players on HAVOC don't wipe the ice with you, Terry. Snap!

Congrats to the Hitmen for their win against us. They earned it, but they had better beat the hockey team or else I'll have to step in front of a Jeff Vaughn slap shot to end my suffering. Hopefully there will be enough remains to identify my body afterwards.
