Last week's results:
Misfits 7, Phantoms 2: The Misfits got out to a 5-0 lead, thanks to two goals apiece from Mark Dunning and Harold Cussnick. Cussnick ended up with the hat trick plus four assists. Not bad.
Hockey Team 6, Yokels 4: The Yokels tried to make it interesting with a couple third-period goals, but this was all Hockey Team. Paul Markuson had the hat trick. Hockey Team had 39 shots on goal.
Blue Devils 7, Mid Cities 2: Jim Koeler and James McFarlane each scored a pair in a blowout that the Blue Devils led 5-0 in the middle of the second.
Beerflyers 7, Stickmen 3: Glenn Englehart scored three and Dan Custred had two plus a helper. Garrod Tyler stopped 33 of 36 shots.
Hitmen 8, Wolverines 2: Brian Fisher had a pair of goals as the Hitmen improved to 4-1.
Kings 6, Ice Dogs 1: Mike Sullivan scored twice on Nick Aldi assists.
Yokels 5, Wolverines 3: The Yokels overcame a 3-1 deficit with four unanswered goals, including two in the third period by Paul Gottieb (the last was an empty-netter). Two of the goals came on powerplays, apparently one after a slashing call and another after a body-checking minor. This is the new NHL, fellas. There were 13 penalties in this game.
