Scoring Leaders: After Six Games

*A note about stats: Players accumulate stats by team. That is, if you play for more than one team, you have a stat line for each team. Stats are compiled according to official scoresheets. Any mistakes, misapplied goals, misspellings or omissions are due to incomplete or inaccurate scoresheets or poor scorekeeper penmanship. (Like, for example, sometimes we can't read it.) We report what they report. If your name is misspelled, leave a comment and it will be corrected. In other words, this process is like hand grenades; we're just trying to get it in the vicinity. And, remember dude: It's only I-league, but we like it. -- The management.

Standings, schedule

UPDATED: Week 6 Results

Patriots 3, Spuds 1 (photo): Patriots dominated this one, but the Spuds get better by the week. Pats goals came from Butch Hutchison, Josh Piccirillo and John Newell. Assists: Rahul Sharma, Newell, Les York, Lance Kelly. For Spuds, there was a Scott Baldree goal on an assist by Dustin Nation.

Blue Devils 3, Snipers 2: Patrick Green scored on a Jeron Gibson assist with 7:27 left to lift the BD’s. Other goals came from Michael Binney (unassisted) and Clint Wacker (assist Dan Glein). The Snipers took a 1-0 lead on Alyson Kelly’s goal on a sweet pass from the point. Assists went to Kerry Brown and Tom Buckner. (But wasn’t forementioned sweet pass from Kyle Largent?) Largent went coast-to-coast for the Snipers’ other goal. An assist went to … goalie Josh Ayala? Yep.

Stickmen 1, Fugaweez 1 (tie): Both teams scored in the first period, Brad Bynum for Stickmen and Kyle Overton for Fugaweez (assist: Dallas Lehr). After that, nothing, even in the shootout. And that was the end of a perfect Stickmen season.

Woverines 1, Ice Holes 1 (tie): It was the same story in this one. A pair of first-period goals and then nothing. For Wolverines, it was Bryan Conner on a Tommy Riley assist. For Ice Holes, it was Greg Hunt (unassisted). Both goalies (David “Goose” Giesecke and Chris Duran) faced a bucket of shots and stopped nearly all of ‘em. Nice game, fellas.

Stingers 5, Puckers 4: Greg Carter and Roland Widmann each had a goal and assist for the Stingers. Other Stingers’ scoring … Goals: John Hardin, Scott Castleberry, David Edwards. Assists: Rick White. For Puckers … Goals: Rob Constantine (2), John Patten, Dallas Lehr. Assists: Brian Lochkos (2) (they spell this different every week), Constantine.

Phantoms 8, Spiders 1: We watched this one from the bar and were glad we had something to drink. A true drubbing. Phantoms had seven different scorers. We won’t list them all here, but Cory Howard had a goal and two assists and Ryan Smith had a goal and assist. Aw, heck, here are the others … Goals: Jason Isham, Jay Peters, James Maxwell, Greg Hunt, Brandon Suits, Jason Neal. Assists: Suits (3), Neal, Ryan Smith, Peters. Spiders got a goal from Rahul Sharma.

Brewzers 5, REDRUM 1: Milton Highfill had two goals in this one. Other scorers: Ken Thomas, Steve Daniels, Andy Thomas. Assists went to Jamil Jabri (2), Andy Thomas and Matt Walker. The only tally for REDRUM came from Dan Barr, with an assist by Danny Arnold. REDRUM couldn’t muster much offense; just six shots.

Memorial Daze Is ThisWeek

Remember, we have no games this week. Anyone fraught with anxiety over a week off the ice should check out the Memorial Daze tournament. Yes, it's in friggin' Frisco, and that's a haul. But heck, we're promised a "Beer Garden," whatever that is, and there's a poker tournament, not to mention free skating for the kiddies, and also not to mention the annual 80-percent-off sale in the pro shop. Last but not least, you're guaranteed three games for $37. Check with Knute (who was taking names for a free agent team) or go to: http://etools.meetingscentral.com/sites/412/index.html
