Scoring leaders after Week 4
*A note about stats: Players accumulate stats by team. That is, if you play for more than one team, you have a stat line for each team. Stats are compiled according to official scoresheets. Any mistakes or misspellings or omissions are due to incomplete or inaccurate scoresheets. If your name is misspelled, leave a comment and it will be corrected. In other words, this process is like hand grenades; we're just trying to get it in the vicinity. -- The management

Week 4 Highlights
Phantoms 3, Spyders 1: The Spyders (0-4) strike first on a goal by Heather Grey, but Phantoms (3-1) wear them down. Goals by Bobby Sirkis, Corey Howard and Scott Alcon. Jason Neal notches an assist for Phantoms, who win shots battle 18-11.
Score by periods:
Phantoms 1 2 0—3
Spyders 1 0 0—1
REDRUM 3, Patriots 3 (tie): Redrummer Chris Conner gets two goals and Bryan Conner (brothers?) scores unassisted with 10:38 left to forge a tie with previously perfect Patriots (3-0-1). Redrum (1-2-1) gets 24 shots to 13 for Patriots. Butch Hutchison (or is it Hutchinson? have seen it both ways) scores twice for Patriots. Sorry, Benefield, I thought that first one was yours, but scorekeeper disagrees; didn’t even give you an assist! (Photo above is from this game; see others below.)
Score by periods:
REDRUM 1 1 1—3
Patriots 2 1 0—3
Brewzers 2, Fugaweez 0: Mystery Brewzer (name not on sheet) scores goal and assist in upset of Fugaweez (2-1-1). Sorry for the lack of info, but this is the worst scoresheet all season. Somehow, Fugaweez gave up a first-period goal without surrendering a first-period shot. I can tell you Fugaweez spent much of the second and third periods shorthanded because of six penalties. Surprising Brewzers are suddenly 2-2.
Score by periods:
Brewzers 1 1 0 —2
Fugaweez 0 0 0—0
Ice Holes 2, Blue Devils 0: David Base and a mystery Ice Hole (No. 7?) score to keep the Blue Devils’ slide going. Blue Devils (1-3) get just seven shots on strong-defending Ice Holes (3-0-1). They now have one goal in the past three games.
Score by periods:
Ice Holes 0 1 1 —2
Blue Devils 0 0 0—0
Stickmen 1, Snipers 1 (tie): Snipers goalie Patrick Donaghue puts in another heroic effort, deflecting 28 of 29 shots. Brett Fitch scores on a Joe Tomme assist for Snipers (1-2-1). Jeff Lester scored for Stickmen (1-2-1). See photos below.
Score by periods:
Stickmen 0 1 0—1
Snipers 1 0 0—1

Want to play more? Here's a great deal ...
I-Leaguers looking for another night of ice time should check out the "league" at The Parks in Arlington.
The games are Monday nights (9:30 p.m. to 10:45 p.m.), so you don't have to give up another weekend night to hockey. And the price is right: about $10 per game. The whole season was $99 for 11 or 12 weeks; they're three weeks in. The coordinator will pro-rate your fee for the weeks you've missed. Drop-ins are welcome. Last night, there were 15 skaters plus two goalies and coaches on both benches. Plenty of playing time for everyone. The ice was pretty decent, and the level of play was appropriate for I-league. Check it out.
UPDATE: I checked on specifics for the FREE drop-in on Sundays. It's actually at 8 a.m., and yes, it's free to the first 30 skaters for the next three weeks. You must sign up when you arrive. After February, it'll be $11. More info: 817-419-0095.
