Week 6 in the books, excitment abounds.

1. Dallas Lehr: Patriots - 2 goals, GWG (patriots 4-0 win)
2. Casey Jenkins: Puckers - Defensive anchor (puckers 1-0 win)
3. Greg Martinez: Snipers - 1 goal, 1 assist (snipers 4-2 win)
Goalie of the week:
David Blubaugh: Stickmen: 20 saves on 22 shots, perfect in the shootout (Stickmen 3-2 SO)
honorable mention: John Ellis: faced 28 shots, stopped 27 of them. (Leftovers 0-1 loss)
Blue Devils 1 Black Widows 0
Black Widows once again lose a heart breaker by the score of 1-0, this time at the hands of the blue devils. BD got their lone goal from Mark Cameron midway through the first, and that is all they would need as Phil Garlow pitches the shutout. The Black Widows who only had 7 skaters again, still couldn’t find the score sheet and now have dropped two straight. Blue Devils are on fire as they are winners of four straight and are right in the hunt for the keg game.
Patriots 4 Komets 0
Patriots get their third straight shutout and fifth straight victory to improve to 5-1 on the season. Patriots were almost near perfect on the night, showing no weakness in either offense or defense and had outshot the komets 11-1 after the first period alone. Scoring wise, Dallas Lehr tacks on two goals, while Travis Lehr and Butch Hutchinson tallied goals in the win. Goalie Philip Talley was again perfect stopping 12 of 12 shots on the night. Komets had half of china on their bench and from their captain, Bruce Frankle, “we got a good old fashion whooping tonight”. Patriots will look to continue their winning ways next week against the stickmen.
Snipers 4 Spiders 2
Spiders continue to look terrible as this time the Snipers burst out in an offensive explosion. Greg Martinez scored the first goal for the snipers however that lead would be erased as Kurt Kresta scores for the spiders with seconds left in the 1st. Snipers would regain the advantage on ringer Alex Eyesermans’ goal, only to have the game tied on a Mallisa Daniels goal. Snipers would then go on an offensive quest by putting up two more in the 2nd period from Rob Mustell and the great Paul Coyne. Solid goaltending from Snipers net minder Nick Murphee in the third would give the Snipers the win in what was a very nice game. Tom “Foolery” Yockey was once again out coached by the wind.
Puckers 1 Leftovers 0
We don’t have a score sheet from this one, but defensive awesomeness occurred from the puckers when Casey Jenkins made a pitch for defenseman of the year with perfect defensive play. We don’t know who scored the goal for the Puckers who get their first W of the season. (Ryan Rintala with goal for the puckers) We have heard much bitching from people about this game, so we don’t know how this game progressed. From Coach Sirkis, “People should tune in next week, cause it’ll be a new leftovers team against the ‘Holes”.
Warriors 1 Brewzers 0
Warriors continue to hang on for their possible back door entry into the keg game with a solid defensive performance. The great Doc Taub scores the game winner for the Warriors who are only a couple players being comparable to the Mayhem squad of seasons past. If Coach Sirkis can somehow get this team into the Keg game this season, he may as well be the greatest I league coach of all time. Warriors’ last two games are going to be tough ones, Black Widows this week and the regular season finale against the Ice Holes. Warriors take a loss; they’re out of the hunt.
Stickmen 3 Ice Holes 2 (Shootout)
In probably what was the most entertaining game next to the Patriots masterful shutout, the Ice Holes take their second loss of the season, but are able to get a valuable point to stay one point behind the Patriots and tied for 2nd. Stickmen were all over this game at the beginning with goals from Kevin Cook and Brad Brynum in the first for a solid 2-0 lead. But they often say the two goal lead is the hardest to protect. In the third, the Ice Holes ralled back on two goals from Jonathan Bird to tie the game. After a scoreless OT, apparently, an EPIC shoot out transpired with 19 skaters going (or so the legend goes). Fans watching finally saw the Stickmen with the game winner from Kevin Oliver, we dont know how many "goals" were scored in this or if it was just goalies denying shot after shot. In regulation, Stickmen did not throw that many shots on the Ice Holes net, as Doug Taylor only had to face a total of 7 shots?! Meanwhile on the other end, Stickmen David Blubaugh was the savior of the stickmen as he makes 20 saves on 22 shots on the night, plus we're guessing he was immortal in the SO

Ice Holes vs Stickmen: 9pm
A late night gem is in order here…we could go on about how we hate the stickmen for half their team calling me right after the Michigan meltdown…but I won’t…Stickmen still have a shot at Glory, while the Ice Holes will try to find their offensive rhythm.

Spiders 3 Brewzers 0
Brewzers had no shot in this one, they should’ve just went home and cried. Chris Gallagher says, “I’m the man” while flashing the shocker as he gets two goals and Pete Clark gets the other one as the Spiders cruise 3-nil.
Patriots 1 Black Widows 0 (OT)
Another glorious textbook victory for the Patriots, in a very dramatic game. The spiders were loaded with several players from the D league Hitmen, however the Patriots D denied every attempt. It would be half way through the OT period that Jeff Eagle off a Butch Hutchinson assist would be the winning tally for the surging patriots. Tom “Terry” Yockey was once again defeated by the wind. He should really some lessons in coaching from Chris Skupien.
Stickmen 4 Leftovers 1
When we asked coach Sirkis how the game went, he responsed, “Stickmen: a lot, Leftovers: not even close.” As college football season nears, we’re now using Ohio State Stickmen, cause that’s what they are. Heck, we should just put college teams on all the names in the league. Hey, let’s go ahead and roll with that….. The UTA Leftovers had no hope though they had a goal from their ringer Jr “Caketown!” Lindamood off a Billy Quinn assist. From the Stickmen: Stef Trapp, Brad Bynom, Brian Listman, and Jeff Thomas all scored, while Henderson, Eyesermans, and Halford trio was silent.
Phantoms 3 Ice Holes 1
Yea, we put the phantoms, cause it’s pretty much that whole freakin team - minus the good players. (Kidding!) But Ryan Smith is a sack. Moving on to the game…A glorious battle ensued, and we gotta give the Komets props for stepping up. When the Komets lost Nate Hodges, they pretty much got an equal if not better replacement in Brian Brookman, so their ringer trio with Gallagher and Atkins is still complete. Ice Holes went up 1-nil when some dude named John scored. (lack of damn rosters!) Komets then rallied as Gallagher strikes as does Sean “Space Pope” Keirr, while in the third it was the great speed demon Scott Baldree who notched the third goal of the night. Komets = UT, while Ice Holes represent Notre Dame.

The New York Blue Devils pretty much hung on to win a VERY close game against the Boise St. Warriors. The great Jarrod Robinson scored on a Chris Zolle assist for the early lead for the evil empire. The game was then tied up as Eric Johnson strikes for the equalizer for the Warriors. After a scoreless 2nd period, the third was filled with juicy goodness as BD took the lead on a Scott Speelman goal, only to be nullified when Johnson struck again for the Warriors. Finally with less than four minutes left to go in the game it was Chris Zolle whose goal from Ray “Hobo” Workman and Brian Rivers would mean victory for the Diablo Azul.

The Texas Tech Snipers hung on for a win over the Oklahoma Puckers, as the puckers yet again come up short. Jesse Henderson made his presence known as he scores in the first for the 1-0 snipers lead. Bob Mustall would get his second point of the night on his goal late in the second for a snipers 2-0 lead. Puckers would respond on a goal from Rob Constantine with under 30 seconds left in the frame. Snipers then pretty much iced the game as Greg Martinez gets a tally midway through the third. Puckers would get a score from Kevin Luchenhoff late, but not enough.
