Week 7 Preview

With only 2 games left before playoffs…this weekend is huge

PREVIEWS!

6:30pm Blue Devils vs Brewzers
Blue Devils hope to remain in the hunt for a trip to the title game, a loss and they’re out. They will have to take on a Brewzers squad that has one of the lowest GAAs in the league. Ray Workman has promised victory, by at least 3 goals.

6:30pm Snipers vs Komets
Komets are coming off their thrashing at the hands of Nate Hodges and the Patriots and hope to get back on the winning ways. They will have to go up against a Snipers squad who had a nice offensive explosion last game. Greg Martinez is the one to watch in this one, as he is very quickly becoming one of the better players in this league. Will Chris Gallagher return to save the komets from a back to back loss?

7:45pm Stickmen vs Patriots
This is always a fun matchup to watch as this one could possibly be a Keg Championship. It pits the league’s best two goalies against each other and for the Stickmen, David Blubaugh must show up. The Patriots are looking to continue their winning ways, but will have to do it against the Axis of Evil: Henderson, Eyesermans, and Halford.

7:45pm Black Widows vs Warriors
Black Widows haven’t scored a goal in two games and have suffered back to back 1-0 losses…frustrating. They will have to go against another scrappy team in the warriors who are also trying to make a back door run at the title game. The loser of this one will be eliminated from the race. From coach Bobby Sirkis, “Watch for the werewolf”.

9pm Spiders vs Puckers
Puckers hope they can somehow salvage this season with back to back wins as they take on a downward spiraling spiders team. Puckers will need excellent defense again if they are to slow down the streaky yet sometimes potent spiders offense. We are predicting two goals from Ryan Rintala and a goal from Kevin Luchenhoff.

9pm Ice Holes vs Leftovers
An upset is brewing in this one, as a low scoring ice holes team will have to try and generate enough offense against on fire – John Ellis. If this remains a low scoring affair, the Leftovers may pull one of the greatest upsets in modern I league history. Leftovers will need a good game from their superstar Junior “Caketown” Lindamood (see below)…From Coach Sirkis, “We’re bringing the rain”.

Also...have your coordinators talk to Yockey...the time is coming to start thinking about the fall, teams, format, league, games, ect

Thank you for acknowledging the Brewzers defense and great goaltending. Any team we play always get a clean competitive game and no one has ever complained that we use super ringers. (except for Jennifer Leonard)
We have the lowest penalty minutes and I think the most even squad in I league. Go Brewzers!

...at least the Crossbar had some life in it last night, vs. the look of the Mall from Night of the Living Dead the week before - I know, old news, but it's really sad - They really screwed up a great, close place for fun and drinks after the game. Not that I ever minded post-parties at friends' backyards. This was like a two-kegger where nobod showed. Nytex's proposed bar may have some life... Anybody know the progress?
