Watch Your Wallet

Word around the rink is we're once again being victimized by gutless punks who steal our wallets and cellphones while we try and play a little hockey.

One guy told me last week that there had been lockerroom thefts during the past two pickup games he attended in Euless. And, he said, another guy said he had heard of thefts.

I looked it up on the Euless police website and found that, sure enough, there was a theft during the evening pickup last Tuesday night. I read all the reports going back to January and found only that one, but that doesn't mean others simply weren't reported -- or recorded -- by police.

The only other crime listed at 1400 S. Pipeline was a car break-in (actually a Chevy Suburban) on Saturday, Feb. 23, between 10:50 a.m. and 12:45 p.m.

So, two lessons: Don't leave your shit in the locker room unless it's locked, and don't leave valuable shit in your car. It ain't safe. Then again, it's not as dangerous as 1400 Glade Road in Euless. That shopping center (Where the Target/Albertsons/Gamestop are) records scads of vehicle break-ins every month.

Faithful readers here will remember we had an awful spate of scumbag behavior a couple years ago.

Let's be careful out there.

Fine bit of investigative reporting Geraldo.

I should print up some nice $100 bills with my pirated copy of photoshop (while listening to my bootleg music collection) and leave them for the thief. Maybe he/she will try to use it and find a nice group of Secret Service boys investigating his/her colon. Keep an eye out for someone who walks funny.

Knowing Hockie Homeboy, he would print Chris Osgood's face on the $ 100 bills.
