New D-League Champ: Blue Devils

The Blue Devils won the first championship in franchise history (I- or D-league) last night by sweeping Hockey Team in the D-League finals.

Mark Cameron's goal held up to force a scoreless overtime, and Greg Sargent scored the lone shootout goal as the BDs prevailed 2-1. We can't find the scoresheet on Pointstreak. (Why do they have such a hard time getting that right in the playoffs?)

Goalie Terry Redmon, aka Frank the Tank, was on his head again. HT had about 35 shots and got only the one. Redmon knocked away all five in the shootout and ended up allowing one goal on more than 70 shots in the series. He was easily the series MVP.

Congrats to Blue Devils everywhere. The curse is broken.

And, congrats to HT for a hard-fought series.

Congrats you Bunch of sorry SOB's :) Couldn’t put together a winning season in I league, but can pull off a D league championship!!! What the Hell?

Did Ray "The Turtle" Workman get attacked by any angry women? :)

Hopefully the curse really is broken and us Blue Devils and the esteemed Blue Devil Franchise can reign supreme!!

Congrats!!

It was a fun couple of games that could easily have gone the other way. Terry was the difference for us. He probably put together his best back-to-back games ever. And, he picked the best time to do it.

Thanks Terry !

If they are moving to 'C', then bringing back Mike Ross makes sense. If they are staying in 'D', then they sure don't need Ross. HT is still the team to beat as it is in 'D'. They outshot the BD both games in the finals by almost 2 to 1.

Can anyone on HT confirm this ? Mats ?

HT is bringing back Mike Ross, Peter Hulten, Peter Forsberg, Peter Fonda, Peter Pan and Darcy Wakaluk and threw the series to stay in D League.

Mike Ross moved back to Canada, you bunch of numbnuts. Substantiated rumor my ass. Substantiated by whom? The tooth fairy? Quit your quivering and quaking, Rossy won't travel from Ontario to DFW to play D league hockey on Friday nights.

All:

Can we cool it with this shit?

Ringer talk is boring. Just shut up and play hockey and, if you're one of the better teams, be a good sport about it.

That's all. There's plenty of blame to go around for past transgressions. Let's move on. That goes for BDs and HTs alike, and MFs and Stickmen and Ice Dogs.

Quit your bitching.

The beer was still cold at the Crossbar after the loss. What more can you ask for; good, hard fought game, good friends, and a couple of cold beer after.

Since we no longer feel any love from the other D-league teams in Euless, the Hockey Team decided to sign a 30 game contract with Nytex for Fall/Winter (we missed the Beerflyers :) ). We will still play D, with no real changes to the team.

I know we will be missed at DPSC-Euless but you never know, we might be back.

Thanks everyone for a pretty good season and a great final series.
