Chaos Continues

As if the lack of a schedule weren't enough of problem, Pointstink is out of the loop again. It may be a moot point, for all we know these games will be disallowed from the stat sheets to avoid conflict with teams that opted for practices. The job of a coordinator is a difficult one, I can only imagine what sort of challenges this style of management presents for filling out a roster, more about that later.

I went home early so I didn't get to see any of the action after the first game, but, we did have some games this weekend no matter what the record says. So let's get down to whatever business we can. . .

Komets (0-1-1) 2
Patriots (2-0-0) 5

The Komets are jumbling lines and their record is suffering for it, perhaps they will figure it out before we get to the meaningful games, unless these are them, or some such. The Pats scored in the first minute of the game and went into a shell for most of the rest of the period. Late in the period, Ellis tried to send a pass down the ice to John Newell but instead threw it right into the chest of defenseman Steve Benefield, it rebounded right back into his own net. . . The Patriots bail him out by winning the period with a goal from Doug Phillips. In the second period the Komets keep the Pats out of the net for half of the period, but still generate no offense of their own. In the sixth minute the dam breaks and Pat goals fall to Travis Lehr, Kendall Bernard, and Dallas Lehr. The Komets gain a pride point by scrabbling up an actual goal, off of a Komet stick no less, when Cory Coper collects his first I-league goal against Ellis (looks like a trend, sometimes). The third was boring and pointless, and somewhere along the way a sixth Patriot goal was scored but not logged onto the scoresheet, blah-blah.

Stickmen (0-2-0) 0
Blue Devils (1-1-0) 3

A grudge match, at least for Val and David, I really don't know if there's any venom from the rest of the players present. Val gets the primary assist on Jay Peter's goal to open the scoring for the Devils. Then in the second, Ryan Wacker makes his re-debut and ends his one year + scoring drought with a Blue Devil goal, he puts in one more in the third. How long until Gloria gets back in the line-up?

DFW Titans (1-1-0) 0
Brewzers (1-1-0) 0

The game was a defensive, claw for every inch battle that ends in a scoreless, shotless tie. Somehow they manage to complete the shoot-out without a goal, AMAZING!

Whalers (0-1-0) -
LSI (1-0-0) -

Gallagher suited up as the starting center for LSI and the Green rink imploded!

Ice Bats (1-0-0) -
Spiders (1-0-0) -

The Spiders and Ice Bats were all set to play a fast paced, high-scoring match but as the teams approached the cold, dark singularity- the winds of Ragnarök blowing them toward the abyss, they turned on their heels and ran away from the building screaming like little girls. . . even the girls!

Who won those games????

How can anyone possibly know that?

Well, I am assuming that whoever played them would know (I am assuming that the games were actually played but just not reported to pointstreak)?

"It may be a moot point, for all we know these games will be disallowed from the stat sheets to avoid conflict with teams that opted for practices."

The teams joining I-Major this week will have 2 losses.

Word has it the DFW Titans folded - The Brewzers had a no referee scrimage with the Stickmen.

Whalers v LSI was 3-2 LSI in Overtime. making the stats:
Whalers 0-1-1
LSI 2-0-0

It was a fun game. LSI are good players and good sports.

Whalers #2

Euless Starcenter has recruited a Freshmen intern from LD Bell to keep the standings/stats on a spiral notebook which will be kept in a rusty file cabinet under the front desk. Coin-flipping will be the scientific method by which this week's games will be decided. This intern will also complete the schedule and post it to Pointstreak in his first 15 minutes on the job.
