i like this. richards in only 27
Smith is a great backup, but is over qualified (like SuperGirl playing in I-League). He is better than the current number-1 in Tampa Bay, so look for him to become #1.
Jussi... I like the guy bunches. He's not a stable point maker tho. Halpern... same.
Richards: Not so hot right now, but put him on a line with some go-getters like Ott and any-Finn you want, and he will flow... the guys only 27, right?
See you at the playoffs!
LOVE THE TRADE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love the trade....
sounds good. Smith was never good enough to replace Turco, but too good to be stuck behind him. Everyone wins!
Fantastic trade everyone wins, where are those who wanted to trade Turco?
they should have traded Turco instead of Smith.
It is too early to tell if this is a good trade or bad trade. Just remember time can only tell.
The best and worst trade deadline trades in Stars history:
The Best: 1998 - The Stars traded Bob Errey & Todd Harvey to the NY Rangers for Brian Skrudland & Mike Keene. Skrudland and Keene were good defensive forwards who helped the Stars bring home the cup in 1999.
The Worst: 2002 - The Stars traded Joe Nieuwendyk & Jamie Langenbrunner to the New Jersey Devils for Randy McKay, Jason Arnott and a 2nd round draft pick.
Nieuwendyk & Langenbrunner won the cup for the Devils in '03. McKay retired after the '02 season and Arnott told Tom Hicks to "shove it" and headed to Nashville.
This is a wonderful trade
Best trade was Ribs for enima
"Brett Hull....what have you done!"
won us the cup
My prediction: Richards with 5 assists in his first Stars game. Hagman with a hat-trick. Don't believe? Just watch :) Wow.
I say he will be at least a point per game player for the next five games
