As we sit here content from our pre-thanksgiving feast, we thought it would be good to write on the blog.
So here’s last week crap…er action…
Blue Devils 3 Brewzers 1
A short handed brewzers squad takes one on the chin as the Blue Devils bounce back to .500 on the season. Jamil Jabri scored the lone Brewzers goal. After that, the Blue Devils stepped up and played one of their finest games this season. Chris Zolle scored from Clint Wacker, while Ray Workman and Scott Speelman scored in the Blue Devils three unanswered goals. The Hot Gloria Buell extended her point streak to 2 games with an assist on the speelman goal. From Ray Workman, “This win was for Todd Smith, it’s his 40th Birthday, and he couldn’t look more the age if he tried.” From Jabri, “F&*#& you Nate Hodges.” Wow…harsh.
Ice Holes 5 Puckers 2
Ice Holes totally trounce the Puckers in this one. Things looked good for the Puckers at the start as John Hardin scored to put the lucky puckers up 1-0 in the first. Then the Ice Holes started playing hockey. Four consecutive scores for the Holes, as Chris Hayes gets a hat trick and Philip Hussey also taps one in. Travis Lehr would get some ice time for the Puckers and score for the Puckers other strike, but this one was all Ice Holes, the whole game. Wow…no penalties in this one.
Komets 6 Snipers 5
Well Defense was forsaken in this one. Komets were completely dominating this one, then the Snipers started roaring back. Michael Gallagher and Sean Kier had the Komets up 2-nil, but Lee Miller’s goal for the Snipers made looked to make this into a game again. Komets then pulled away on three strikes from Alex Atkins, Bruce Frankel, and Kier’s second of the night. Again, Miller and Atkins would trade goals as the score sat at 6-2 Komets going into the third. Then the Snipers started playing. Alex Eyesermans, Jesse Henderson, and Joe Tomme score for the Snipers in what looked to be the greatest meltdown to occur in I league History. However Komets survived the Snipers assault led by Tom Yockey?!?! WTF? Who had an assist in the snipers rally…that’s funny. From Head Referee in the game, Chris Skupien, when asked about Yockey’s play, “I didn’t even know he was out there, the sucking level looked to be level across the board”.
Grave Diggers 3 Warriors 2 (SO)
Head Coach Dallas Lehr was fuming after this collapse from his warriors squad and almost fired himself in retaliation. Eric Johnson and Scott Dolbee scored for the Warriors for the 2-0 lead and the Warriors held the lead with a minute left to play in the game. Then the Grave Diggers mounted an epic comeback. The Letter A scored on a Cory Howard Assist, while Amy By/rum scored the game tying goal with 24 seconds left in the game. (We are just going on what was on Pointstreak. We heard warriors are protesting based on roster violation...yeah right, like yockey will do anything about it). After a scoreless OT, it was former Stingers great Rodney Murray on the shootout winner to complete the GD upset over the undefeated warriors. From Lehr, “There will be no media allowed to our next practice, that is how inhumane I am going to be to this team.”
Patriots 5 Stickmen 1
Much like their inspiration in New England, the Euless Patriots, keep winning games, and make it look easy. Butch Hutchinson was the hero in this one, and pulled a Jussi by putting up four goals and an Assist in a complete thrashing of the stickmen. The up and coming Junior “Caketown” Lindamood also had a tally on the night. Most notably was the hot Sabrina York whose play was damned near flawless in what was undoubtly her best game ever, knotting two assists in the win. Patriots have won a lot in a row. In the interest of fairness, Timothy Schmidt scored for the Stickmen in the losing cause.
Spiders 3 Komets 2 (SO)
Fresh off their almost meltdown, the Komets couldn’t hold off the Spiders in this one as they blow a 2-1 lead in the third. After a scoreless first period, it would be Jon Hale to score on a Michael Ginnard assist for the 1-0 lead. Alex Atkins and ringer Scottie Baldree then gave los komets a 2-1 lead with 9 minutes and change left in the third. According to Komets Sources, the following occurred midway through the period on a sudden debacle which had Rich Duval putting the puck in his own net, credit to Mallisa “Smiley” Daniels, tied the game and sent us to OT. After a scoreless frame, it would be the GREAT PETE CLARK! to get the winner for the surging spiders. Hoorah for Turkey!
Happy Thanksgiving Peeps!

this was the most fun i have had at the rink in a long time. it is a shame no one can proof read the blog.
Q: How many C-Leaguers does it take to invade Saturday Night Hockey at Euless.
A: As many as they want - there ain't no rules in I-League.
Hoes.
welcome to the world of professional amateur ice hockey.........you will always play against someone 10 times better than you.
Let the record show it only took 4 games for this season's rules, regulations, "crack-downs", etc to be pulled off the proverbial table.
We saw the 'unretirement' of Chris Gallagher, Tom Yockey's debut and Grave Digger ringers (who arent even registered)in I-league games.
We ALL knew Circus would pull something like this but Yockey? Gallagher? Come on, you guys are better than that...
What? Yockey went against his word? Come on, that would never happen!
Yeah, that's worse then Knute!
gd ringers are registered i league players
"We heard warriors are protesting based on roster violation.."
who protests for a (1) point?
you can say that people that bring in ringers take this too seriously, but the same can be said about protesting a game lost in OT or the shootout.
Protesting illegal players is the right thing to do (regardless of the game's outcome)...it helps the entire league.
This is especially true for I League!
http://budlightapologybot.com/flash.html
the gd ringers are registered in the d league not the i league
are they registered in the c league? if they aren't, then technically they would be ok because they aren't playing more than two levels apart.
I want to be a ringer, where do you sign up for that?
play in the c league or better and then play in the i league
Correction on the Spiders vs. Komets game:
Andrew Patti had a SWEET drop pass to John Hale for the score; not McSkilz Ginnard (although that kid is awesome!)
and Smiley did in fact deke in a rebound from the goalie...sorry Komets goalie but a chick scored on you....(although I had four shots on net and couldn't light the lamp so don't feel bad)
From Sirkis Sr.
I have to pipe in on this 'ringer' discussion. We had 3 subs for the game against the Warriors. One D league player and 2 I-League players (john Hardin, and Raul). They were approved by Yockey AND the Warriors Coach. I spoke to both of them before the game, the Warriors coach told me Chris Gallagher could not play.
As far as the 'a' for player's names, we can't help it if the score keeper can't read or type. Everyone that played had a valid Star's center ID card indicating what league they play in and it was turned into the score keeper before the game.
I have been playing in the I-League for about 2 1/2 years now. There has always been discussions about 'ringers'. Be honest people, everyone one has played on a team that has used players that are well above the skill level of I-League, so what. It's a game, Yockey and Company are trying to set some rules and I believe they are fairly decent.
As far is Yockey and Chris Gallagher playing, I coached for the Komets and watched Chris play expecting some discussion on the blog. He played back and did not attempt to take over the game and in my opinion was not the difference in the game.
It's not a matter of whether or not a ringer "holds" back.
It's I league, give someone who needs the extra ice time a chance to play.
the above comment is 100% true.

Heres an idea:
A. Every team turns in a roster of players who have paid for the (full) season. If you dont pay for a full season, then you arent on a roster. If you arent on a roster, then you dont play.
B. Teams play with their rostered players and only their rostered players. No subs, no alternates, etc. None of this "is it okay if so and so subs in this game? we're short 'x' players..."
If you only have 6 rostered guys show, then you play with 6 guys. You will probably lose. And you should.
If your goalie doesnt show, then too bad. You will probably lose. And you should.
(You might want to surround yourself with guys that are committed enough to be there every Saturday. The good news is you can blow your team up and start over in about 10 weeks if guys arent committed to "the cause".)
If you want to play on more than one team, then you will pay more than one fee.
Management should/can dismiss players who are "too talented" for I-league. It shouldnt come down to the fact if that player made a significant "difference in the game" or not. Just because a C-leaguer doesnt score doesnt mean he can do many other things to affect the outcome of a game.
This would eliminate 99% of the moaning that always seems to appear on this blog.
The only way something as simple as this wouldnt work is lack of testicles from management.
That really is a perfect solution!
Damn that last sentence!
regarding your idea
i agree, only people that are on the roster should be able to play....if you play in the nhl. (even then, the roster can change from day to day) but in all honestly, this is i league. isn't the emphasis supposed to be more on learning basic hockey skills more than winning? i have always felt there should be more practices than games in the i league. but even when there are practices, people don't show. maybe they are too good. who knows?? but back to rosters at the time of the game. true, in some of the higher leagues, if you only have 6-7 players show for your game, you should have to play with that. normally they players in those leagues are younger and talented enough to compete. but not in the i league, not beginners. i think it is ok to have some subs fill out a roster to no more than 10. i do not think it is ok to go out and find the best players possible to do so. maybe there can be an approved sub list created that can be used by the league for this matter. especially true for goalies. why should the entire team suffer because one person can't make a game?
a lot of people say this is a very competitive league, for an i league, it is. the reason, i believe is due to the saturday night games. i would like to know how many people are out there that can only play on saturday night. why can't the euless star center have d league games on saturday as well as i league? you can have i league games on one rink, and d league on the other. im sure that would cause a lot of constraint in people playing in the i and d league, but there are 12 i league teams, 12 d league teams, 6 c league teams, 0 b league teams, and 1 a league team (that plays agains teams in frisco and farmers branch) that play in euless. that is way backwards. everyone complains about ringers in every league. you can see why. in euless, realistically, the c league is the a league! there aren't any more teams high than that. there has to be a trickle up effect here some place.
anyway, that is my thoughts. sorry they were all over the place. and i wasn't trying to put down your idea. it is just everyone says the same thing every season/session and nothing changes. maybe by playing i league and d league on the same night would force people to move up, especially if they want to play in more than one league....i league 'ringers' that want to play in 2 leagues would have to play in d and c. and who knows, maybe we can get a b league going in euless. there are enough people to do it.
peace out son

Good solution, Professor Testicles... Seriously. Rostered players, that's it... uhhh-huh, Thuh-End.
i.e., good luck with that -
Alternatives... C, D, and Rec-League, where you roll the dice and take your chances, as we don't seem to be too good at regulating skillsets at Euless. Okay, at all. You do get better, and usually hope the better folks are on your team, but again, the dice.
I just know Ed Reuch (sp) would remember who's paying if he heard all this - jeez, he'd lose it.
Just a notion, maybe worthy, maybe useless - that's what blogs are for... D and Rec would both get to play on Saturday nights, D as part of their variety of nights, as they have so many teams... Poor bunch (been there) gets tossed around big-time, let 'em have a weekend night, and mix it in with the Rec league.
If I is working elsewhere, God bless. It's not working here. Options for new/starting players? Step up to D (you will survive and learn well, with the right team) or go Rec and again, take a chance, it'll be like D but a 10-week session, Fridays and Saturdays or so. Hey, maybe it'll even merge into the D - just thinking forward.
If not, Ambler at the Parks is not bad for most starter-outers, and I- at FB is pretty much a straight-up I-, from what I hear. Duncanville on Friday nights? The Bucket of Blood Lives...
Good luck, and may God have mercy on my soul for inviting the wrath of the blog. Again, just random ideas worthy of note. What the hell.
Okay, let it fly.
I have testicles the size of grapefruits and I'm going to speak my mind.
I was the one at the end of last season challenged Sirkus to recruit ringers cause the Leftovers were being embarrassed every single game. Ringers or no ringers, Sirkus stepped up to the challenge and upgraded the talent on his team.
And talk about ringers and what kind of changes needs to be maid and this and that. Ringer talk will never go away and it will be still be talked about on this blog 5 years from now. If you get beat by the Gravediggers, take it like a man. This team went through enough hell this past year.
And if you can't take the heat then get the hell out of the kitchen.
What a lovely bunch of coconuts!
As for this being a league of beginners, I disagree.
I have been playing several seasons and see the same guys over and over. Every once in a while you see a 'Bambi' out there, but its rare.
90% of this league are "experienced" players and they should design the league with that in mind.
Stone Cold is all talk and no testicles...
...but, in his defense, he does have grapefruits the size of testicles.
Stone Cold wants to be Mark Gragg so bad
only because if you rearrange the 'r' and the 'a' and add 'le' you have garggle
Stone Cold Testicles?
Agreed - but they won't design the league with that in mind - broken record, I know, but it is what it is, which is apathetic.
I guess you guys say you don't have the family jewels?
And as for Mark. He got screwed by LSU last weekend. And they get to join A&M, TCU and Michigan in the Toilet Bowl games. Missouri will win the National Title.
i understand what the complaints are about. we (the warriors) lost 3 games 1-0 last session and evey goal was scored by someone who didnt belong out on the ice. we seem to be only team that has our own players every week and personally i like it that way. that speaks volumes about the character of people we have. we played games with 7-8 players before and chose not to get anybody else.its funny how a certian someone said to man up when i recall a game when he skated off the ice in the middle of the game to cry about a ringer from the other team.we've taken the attidude of facing who ever you bring, we'll play. we'll take every teams best punch and we'll hang in the game without the "extra help"
"I just know Ed Reuch (sp) would remember who's paying if he heard all this - jeez, he'd lose it."
i think the 'r' is silent.
Ed Euch? If he's the final word on how the leagues are run, yeah. Drag.
Oh Yeah. Stone Cold nonuts, ringers, non-rostered players, women getting away with freaking ice-diving when Bohl's the ref, cause he thinks they 'like' him, apathy in mgt., Sirkis-es, tantrums, etc.-etc. Ad nauseum, ad infinitum.
PLAY YOUR TEAM AND ENJOY THE HOLIDAY SEASON! (C'mon, Cowboys, BEAT the cheese.)
Piece (sp, heh-heh...)
who cares...
Your Mom cared last night. She cared... alot.
