Six Teams Will Make D-League Playoffs

This just in from the horse's mouth ... StarCenter's Keith Andresen says six D-League teams will make the playoffs (which should start around the first of June) but the seeds will be based on winning percentge and not points since teams will have played a different number of games.

In an e-mail to Saturday Night Heroes, Keith says:

"The first thing I will do is try and make sure each team has a minimum of 30 games. Once confirmed we will determine the standings based on winning percentage instead of points as some teams will have played more games than others. The top six are in the playoffs and the rest of the teams will be in a best of the rest tournament."

As we enter the final month, the top five seeds look locked in. There's a heated race for the sixth and final spot as things stand today. If we award a half-win for an OTL, we find these winning percentages:

Stickmen (28 points) -- .538
Blue Devils (29 points) -- .517
Yokels (28 points) -- .466
Mid-Cities (25 points) -- .416

Oh, and the Stickmen play the Blue Devils tonight in a game with big playoff implications.

So you're saying the Phantoms are mathematically eliminated from a shot at 6th seed?

it would have been nice if the DPSC would have told people when they called this week that they may not have a schedule but the season would open on sat. I guess its to bad many players wont make it because they made plans, oh well we play again at the end of the season.
